The Epson EH-TW5700 is a home entertainment projector that aims to cater for both gamers and the home cinema market, so if you are looking for something with a wide range of options then this can go straight on to your short list.  This package offers you 1080p HD quality and can produce an image size up to a staggering 332 inches, that’s bigger than my wall!

Epson are quickly establishing themselves as the go to manufacturer for affordable yet high quality projectors (I have an Epson made projector myself) so let’s take a deeper look at what this model can offer.

Functionality

The Epson EH-TW5700 is designed for home entertainment. It comes equipped with Android TV, so you can easily stream and cast entertainment, talk to Google Assistant and share content from your phone.

Unlike other models in the range, this projectors comes with a 10W speaker built right in.  This is useful for when you don’t have a sound system at hand.  Unfortunately this sort of built in solution will never live up to a dedicated sound solution, so if you have something suitable simply connect up to a soundbar, Bluetooth speaker or headphones with Bluetooth AptX.

Thankfully a fully equipped modern projector like this is much easier to setup than cheaper counterparts, the 1.2x zoom and built in horizontal keystone correction, with lens shift, provide you with a wide range of placement options even in a limited space.

Image Quality

The image is formed by Epson’s 3LCD technology giving rise to exceptionally bright, colourful images even in a bright living room. This model produces an impressive 2,700 lumens, brighter projectors typically work better when you can’t control the light entering a room.  The 35,000:1 contrast ratio is very impressive and beats most competitors, this allows for a super detailed image.  And to top it all, Epson say the included bulb will last 11 years with typical use.

With a full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) you will be impressed by the sharpness of the image. Whilst 4k projectors are getting more common place and those looking for the best quality might want to spend the extra premium, I’ve been more than happy with my 1080p projector and have always been impressed by the images on my 120″ screen.

We give the Epson EH-TW5700 a 5 out of 5 rating. Want to know what existing owners of this projector think? You can read real user reviews here.
